A couple of weekends ago I stumbled upon this cafe, and so enjoyed it I went back when we had friends to visit. It was still good so I thought I would tell you about it. It's called Bilbaoberria (click the link the website can be in English) and it does seriously good Tapas.

Upstairs is all wooden tables and benches, downstairs they have a restaurant, which I haven't tried yet as I can't get past the Tapas! Basically you take a plate and then walk along the counter choosing whatever you want, there is no need to ask the waitresses. Each Tapas comes with a stick through the middle of it and when you come to pay they add up how many sticks you have, big ones are 1.50 Euro and small 1.25 euro (i think).

You have to try this place it's fun just to watch the amount of different food that arrives on the counter and it all looks as good as it taste's. I would go around 12.00ish because that's when the best Tapas comes out (before that it's breakfast things like muffins, croisants and egg topped things).

It's located in Placa Nova and you can sit and people watch on the outside tables.

Getting there - stand outside El Cort Englaise facing Plaza Cataluyna, turn left and go down Avingdua del Portal de l'Angel, walk untill the road kind of forks, take the left one Carrer del Arcs follow this down untill you come into the square Bilbaoberria will be on your right.
