To rent a car or not? This is a question many people will be facing before their trip to Barcelona.
Before I start to recommend any particular car hire companies in Barcelona, and I have had experience with a few!! Maybe it is better to address the question, of whether you actually need a hired car in Barcelona city.

As I mentioned yesterday, a taxi, is quite an economic way of getting around, if you are just staying in the city.
Puclic transport in Barcelona is also excellent! I would describe it as frequent and very cheap!

On foot is also a good option and much of the sight-seeing in Barcelona can be done this way, unless you maybe have kids with you, who will of course be complaining every step of the way!!
Driving in Barcelona city can be hectic, but I actually don't find it too bad. I lived in Rome for 5 years and nothing compares to how the italians drive a car, although I have heard that Cairo is much worse!

Car hire in Barcelona is probably something you would consider, if you also want to explore the surrounding area, or are actually staying outside of Barcelona and are just flying to Barcelona airport.
