Santa María del Mar is a Gothic church in Barcelona. Santa María del Mar is located in the Ribera quartier and was built between 1329 and 1383. The architects were Berenger de Montagut (designer of the building) and Ramon Despuig.
Inside, you can find two rows of perfectly proportioned columns which go up to fan vaults, making the basillica appear very spacious. The stained glass windows are spectacular, especially the great 15th-century rose window above the main door which attracts itself lots of visitors.
Well worth a visit if you enjoy gothic architecture.
