This really amazing museum, which opened in 2005, has been called the finest science museum in Europe. CosmoCaixa Barcelona has an enormous variety of exibits and an innovative layout, turning it into one of the most modern museums of its kind.
The exhibitions are distributed throughout various rooms, including the Amazon Forest, the Geological Wall, Planetarium, etc. Visitors are invited to join in with many of the scientific experiments, making the whole experience more fun and entertaining, particularly for children.
Well that is what we thought after our visit! The Chidren were not particularly enthusiasic about a trip to the science museum on good friday afternoon but they suprised themselves with how much they really did have a good time. We thought it was extremely good value for money! We paid only € 12 for the 5 of us. We only wish that we had been there in the morning, so that we could also have registered for the other activities,
such as the planiterium or toca toca, which means touch touch! But we will be back!
Would recommend it really for anyone with kids in Barcelona, (they might say that they hate science but they will find it difficult not to be impressed by what is on display) particularly suitable on a rainy day!
The museum is situated in:
Teodor Roviralta, 47-51
08022, Barcelona.
The museum is generally open from 10 until 8 and closed on a Monday.
