I can only say wow what a breakfast! This bakery must be one of the most beautiful I have ever seen from the inside. Not that I am anything near a chocoholic, no, no but they have a beautiful display of everything from cartoon characters to football players, beautifully designed from 100% chocolate! Mouth watering, it would have been easy to order at least 3 croissants this morning. We opted for two! One savoury, which I will take as the healthy option, because it was like a pizza made from grilled aubergine and pepper with an anchovie on top. You know sometimes, when you taste something so good, you know you are never going to forget it? Well this must have been one of those moments! It would have been rude not to have bought one of their sweet croissants. The chocolate croissant, said Sven, was the best he had ever eaten! Now beat that!

I was just talking to catalan friend Joan who knows the bakery well and also informed me, that they have another 2 bakeries in Barcelona as well as one in Andorra. Casa Vives, he told me, although not the most famous, is however one of the very best quality bakeries in Barcelona. His father has to go every Saturday morning to the Casa Vives in Sants to buy the bread for the weekend and it is not unusual to have to que for an hour and a half! I guess that could tell you a lot!
