Anyone fancy some oxygen?? Me I prefer to take just a cocktail!
Well, if you do want to escape the smog of Barcelona then you just have to pay a visit to the Shadow Lounge Bar of Barcelona, a very, very sleek venue situated in Barcelona’s Eixample that offers its city-dwelling customers a chilled, club atmosphere and oxygenated air on tap.Yeah! Not for everybody I know but it is apparently "in" at the moment!!
This oxygen bar trend started already in the late 90’s in San Francisco. Visitors inhale between 50-99% oxygen from an air filter for around 2 minutes at a time. The percentage of oxygen in a normal air sample is 21%, the increase in oxygen content from the filter can be very relaxing.
Fans claim that breathing oxygenated air is not only safe, but improves health and well-being, including strengthening the immune system, and building concentration. Oxygen fans will go on about the benefits of oxygen at reducing stress, increasing energy and alertness, lessening the effects of hangovers, headaches, and sinus problems, and generally relaxing the body.
The idea at Shadow Lounge Club is to have an oxygen session to eliminate the stress that you carry around with you from the working day and start off your night of enjoyment on the right foot. Eradicating stress early on will also mean that when you do have a drink, it will be more about enjoyment than drowning your sorrows.
At Shadow Lounge Bar you can even choose teh smell that you want. Anything from lime, mango or “sex on the beach” breath, or even a rejuvenating essence of blue air,which is apparently good for the hangovers!!
They have a great selection of cocktails, spirits, wines, Cavas and beers so I guess the amount you drink will not be a problem if you take your oxygen therapy!!
The Shadow Lounge Bar I can imagine would suit anyone wanting to try something just a bit different. Would maybe fun to try if you are coming on a hen weekend to Barcelona and want to be fit for the shopping in Barcelona the next day. Probably absolutely not for roudy stag weekenders!!!
