You want to eat a truly fantastic meal in Barcelona and the price does not matter too much? Well go to the Botafumeiro restaurant in Barcelona.
We were brought to this, what can only be described, as fantastic restaurant by our good chef friend Joan Anton who having insider knowlege about the restaurants in and around Barcelona we knew we were onto a winner, as this is one of his very regular haunts.

Also helpful to have Joan Anton with you for picking out the best delicacies on the menu, recommended by his friend the restaurant owner! Not everyone of course is lucky enough to have a Joan Anton but this will not be a problem in Botafumeiro because every food cooked in this restaurant will be cooked and served to the highest quality.
You don't even need to sit in the restaurant, as the bar has a certain "je ne sais quoi" feel to it and it gives you a view of the rich and famous coming in!! Now I am not going to name drop here, but you can expect to see a few famous faces most evenings...check on the wall of fame that coats the restaurant walls!

The food is traditional Spanish , Tapas style, specializing in Galician Seafood. According to chef Joan Anton there is a certain procedure to be followed, but be careful because your glasses will be filled without you noticing. Firstly, you must begin with a small beer (caña) or 2, but it will probably be much more, because like I said, they secretly fill your glasses! With the main course a good wine is in order, but again beware! Cava with the dessert and please take a little "digestive" after the meal, a glass filled with Ice and Pacharan! Still sober?
From all the restaurants in all the world that I have ever visited this has to be one of the very best!

A definite 10 out of 10 for Botafumeiro.
