We at Big Blog Media are fortunate in having writers all over the world. One of our best, Carmen Uriarte lives and works in Barcelona. Carmen has been writing for a while on FC Barcelona Blog, but it is obvious to us that she is as passionate about her city and the region of Catalonia as she is about Barcelona Football Team.


She came up with the idea of writing about the city from the perspective of a Catalan native and, given her talents as a writer, we agreed that it could be a very enjoyable and informative site. We have therefore established Barcelona Blog, a site through which Carmen will take the seasoned traveller and casual observer alike on an extensive sojourn into of her vibrant and exciting city. She'll provide helpful tips and advice for visitors, as well as giving suggestions on events and places that the casual tourist would never find out about.


The Advantage of a Blog
Unlike a website, or travel guide, this blog is constantly updated: you'll know if a nightclub is still hip; if a restaurant has decent standards, which hotels won't rip you off, etc. etc.

The other obvious advantage is that Carmen is a real, flesh and blood person and is more than happy to answer your questions or queries about Barcelona or Catalonia.

This blog will also, on occasion, link up with some of our other sites. For example,just this afternoon, Barcelona Football Club recorded a spectacular win over English Champoins, Chelsea - this has been reported by Carmen on FC Barcelona Blog.

We also have a gastronomic called Culinary Arts Blog that will regularly feature Catalonian Cuisine.


Like most people who have visited Barcelona, I have very fond memories of the city and of the Catalonian people - this site will allow you to share in some of the romance and beauty of this fine and ancient city.
